Design your own cellar door experience with your choice of three tastings all with the option of matched canapes from our acclaimed kitchen team.

Choose from the following three tasting options:

Classic Wine Tasting: Enjoy the wines from our Little Demon Range – wines that are young, vibrant and ready to drink now (paired canape flight available once added to cart).

Premium Wine Tasting: Taste the best of Maxwell’s historic vineyards and limited release wines. These are concentrated, robust and classically Maxwell (paired canape flight available once added to cart).

Maxwell Mead Tasting: At Maxwell Wines, we’ve been making mead for three generations. One of the oldest known alcoholic beverages on record, mead is full of both history and flavour!

Flight includes Sparkling Mead, Honey Mead, Spiced Mead and Liqueur Mead.

Upon arrival to the cellar door guests will be escorted to our private tasting room ‘The Loft’. You will be treated to a seated and private food and wine adventure. Our Tasting Flight consists of four generous tastes of specially chosen Maxwell wine along with delicious bite-sized canapes from the acclaimed Maxwell Restaurant, allow 45 minutes for the experience.

Embark on a behind the scenes tour of our working winery and learn about the winemaking process – from the arrival of the grapes to the press, fermenting and blending methods adopted to produce our premium wines. Here, you’ll witness barrels of wine patiently waiting to mature and discover the fascinating process the winemaker goes through to help the wine realize its true potential.

Whilst amongst the barrels, you’ll enjoy an exclusive private tasting experience and discover more about the fascinating history and heritage of Maxwell. You’ll then have a rare opportunity to taste wine directly from the barrel to compare the oaks they are maturing in – just like a winemaker!

Our restaurant has some of the most impressive views in McLaren Vale, which you can admire whilst you indulge in Chef Fabian Lehmann’s latest culinary masterpiece. Each course is carefully curated with seasonal and regional produce that is perfectly paired with wines from our current vintage, so you’re certain to uncover your new favourite drop.

Please note, this experience will be around 4.5 hours in total – finishing around 3.30 pm with your lunch at 12:30 pm.

This is a unique and intimate opportunity to explore the Maxwell estate. Your guided tour will take you in the comfort of Maxwell’s electric buggy to visit the vineyards of the estate including our iconic 92-year-old Grenache vines.

During the tour, you will be taken on a journey through our certified sustainable vineyards to give you an insight into how much work goes into your favourite bottle of wine while looking after the
environment.

After taking in the beautiful views of McLaren Vale from the slopes of the vineyard, your tour is
followed by a premium tasting, connecting the vines to their wines.
