Milang Jetty

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Milang nestles on the banks of Lake Alexandrina and has an important place in the history of the River Murray. The jetty was integral to this history.

Nowadays, the jetty is mainly used for fishing. It still has the 1859 erected hand crane which was used to load the boats which plied Lake Alexandrina’s waters then to make their way up the Murray River with goods and supplies.

The area adjacent to the jetty has been developed as a community and visitor resource. The lawned area has a barbeque area, seating and toilets with a large car park next to the park. This park also serves the boat ramps.
