Newkree Educational Working Farm

Food and Wine Tours

Newkree Educational Working Farm with James Krieg.

Aiming to teach the world where their food comes from and how it’s produced.

From the simple “chicken equals egg” through to the role of pasteurization and bacteria in milk. When we understand where food comes from, and the work involved, we will learn to truly appreciate it!

On Newkree Working Farm we show you how we milk our Jersey cows, separate the cream from the milk, make butter (and the important role salt plays in this process), make and try ice cream!

So come join us on Newkree Educational Working Farm 🙂

From $20 to $30

Get up close and personal with a Jersey cow! Learn how we milk cows and how dairies work.

Get hands-on experience:

– Separating the skim milk from the cream with the fresh warm milk

– Making butter and watching the splitting of the butter and buttermilk

– Seeing how ice cream is made (including taste testing!)

– Take a walk around the farm, seeing the whole herd of cows, calves, and bulls.

At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the dairy industry that wasn’t already addressed.
