A Walking Around Adelaide tour is a great way to get a close look at some of Adelaide’s most beautiful buildings.
The tours offer a chance to hear their stories – the difficulties, the opposition or the corruption the builders had to overcome. We also tell the stories of the people behind the founding of the colony of South Australia. It’s amazing it survived 175 days, let alone 175 years!
Join us on our North Terrace Walking Tour. Special rates are available for concession holders and children.
Adelaide has a history and heritage unlike any of the other Australian capital cities. A walking tour of North Terrace is a great way to experience the grandeur of its iconic buildings, discover the unique history of South Australia and get to know some of the eccentric characters who turned a ‘radical dream’ into a thriving colony.
Tours begin at the eastern end of Parliament House, on the corner of North Terrace and King William Street. You will walk at a comfortable pace along North Terrace, passing many of Adelaide’s significant landmarks. Along the way you will hear the stories behind the construction of these great buildings, as well as episodes from South Australian history, and tales of many of the people who had such an influence on the city.
Tours take one and a half to two hours and finish up back at Parliament House.
