Barossa Grape Vine Charcoal Workshop

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

16 Oct 2021 Monthly Event

Vine Vale and indeed the Barossa Valley is a patchwork of vineyards. Every winter the vines are pruned. Often these cuttings are worked back into the soil, used to propogate new vines or in times gone past have been burnt in the vineyard.

Working in collaboration with the 100 Barossa Artists group, cuttings from Steinborner & Reynolds’ Vine Vale Vineyards are being used to make a unique art product, Barossa Grape Vine Drawing Charcoal. We are pleased to introduce you to this lovely natural art product that speaks so clearly of our region.

Immerse yourself in creativity, make, create and play with Barossa Grapevine Charcoal, where the old vine shiraz used for our drawing charcoal is grown. This workshop is suitable for artists of all experience levels. You will have time to play with your own Barossa Grapevine charcoal kit. Renowned artist Roland Weight will be on hand to guide your charcoal mark making and drawing, as we talk art, and enjoy Bienenstich, Semillon and Shiraz.
If the weather permits we hope to enjoy a glass of wine by the fire/charcoal burner.

The workshops run for 3 hours and are a not to be missed opportunity to experience a small vineyard from a different perspective. Places are limited, bookings are essential.
