Barossa Made SALA Workshops – Fungi Sculpture with Julia Featherstone

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

3 Aug 2021 Once Only Event

Barossa is a region that prides itself on long-standing skills and traditions. Our community has always loved to create and share.

Immerse yourself in the talents of our local makers & artists by joining a range of workshops throughout the month of August for SALA Festival. From art you can eat, painting and creating – there’s a place for everyone at the Barossa Makers’ Table.

Come spend a session with artist Julia Featherstone as she takes you through the process of her Fungi Sculpture made with repurposed fabrics. The workshop will involve lots of slow stitching, free-form embroidery and beading. Machine sewing with hand crank machines. Special effects on fabric will be achieved with rust and eucalyptus dye.

Participants to bring sharp pair of scissors. Please note this is a full day workshop, and participants will need to bring their own refreshments.
