Come & Try 1 – Hillclimb

Community Event

18 Apr 2020

Wanting to start a life in motorsport or maybe just want to try something new? Enter yourself into our Come and Try event! Unlike our other hillclimbing events, this is a non-competitive event so the pressure of competition is out the window.

Our Come and Try events are fun and perfect for practice, testing or beginners to the motorsport world.

Hillclimb is not like circuit racing where one battles against other cars and drivers on track; rather, the time. Drivers get the track to themselves while they attempt to reach their best time.

Of course, this being a Come and Try, the competition aspect is removed.

Generally, competitors get 5 or 6 runs up the track. Almost any car can be entered from road registered to Clubmans to rally cars to the kings of hillclimbing, the Formula Libres!

This event is perfect for newcomers so there is no need for prerequisites.

Entries will open throughout the year so make sure to keep an eye on the Sporting Car Club’s social media and website.

For those wishing to enter who are not Sporting Car Club of SA members, we run a second series called Multi Club that welcomes non-members.
