Join Peramangk elder Ivan Copley on a unique opportunity to learn how the Peramangk people nurtured the land of the Adelaide Hills for the benefit of all future generations. This walking tour will focus specifically on The Cedars, the 60 hectare property that Hans Heysen purchased for the purposes of preserving and protecting the eucalyptus trees he loved as well as to raise his family and complete his work.
Ivan will compare the approaches of both the Peramangk people and Hans Heysen, their relationship and connection to the natural world and what they have in common. Don’t miss this special opportunity to learn about Australia’s first nations people and one of Australia’s greatest painters as you absorb the beauty of an unspoilt landscape.
The walking tour will take approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours; why not plan to spend the whole day and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the property you have just explored or relax over coffee and cake at the new Tea Shop?
