Flossie Graber, a rootless cosmopolitan, found herself in Adelaide at the time of the Covid 19 pandemic. As the world locked down, Flossie spent her time weaving a series of 19 baskets and dreaming of times gone by.
This story is a reimagining of the origins of the Covid 19 virus, inspired by the writer’s despair at the rampant racism that arose during the time of Corona. The story accompanies an exhibition of handwoven baskets and a display of Flossie’s diaries, in which she recorded her life experiences and the secret of the “true” origin of the virus.
In this Writing Live event, author Fanny Jacobson reads an extract from the story.
