Free Cello Show ‘Night Diver’ at Nexus Arts

Cellist Emily Williams will be performing her solo project Night Diver for a free performance at Nexus Arts Centre for one night only on Tuesday 21st at 7pm.

Night Diver is the solo music project of musician and cello player Emily Williams.

The Cello is Emily’s main instrument and it remains at the centre of the music which augmented by multi layered sounds effected piano, sampled glass, steel, synth and voice.

The multiple layers of cello and shimmering electronics are slowly interwoven evoking anticipation, longing, and stillness.

The music is emotionally charged with revolving arpeggios which drift around a motif of atmospheric, low end drone-like ambience, disquieting moody melodies & airy experimental minimalism.

Emily performs Night Diver events in unusual settings including caves France, Greece, UK and Australia, outdoor amphitheatres, viewing platforms, look out points and other acoustically resonant intriguing spaces.

The liver performance is set to projected visuals of deep sea creatures, time lapse footage of nature and the aurora borealis and bioluminescent organisms.

Emily is currently travelling solo around Australia performing in caves, lighthouses and regional/remote areas and the occasional arts centre.
