GIJ is an iconic festival where music students, teachers, international performers, and jazz lovers converge to express and experience their love of music. Whatever your reason for being at Generations in Jazz, there is something for everyone.

An outstanding line-up has been announced from internationally recognised jazz artists Dirty Loops, Thndo and Adam Lopez.

For 3 days in May, schools and students from across Australia descend upon one of South Australia’s largest regional towns to compete, sing, play, perform, meet, and learn.

Music Director Jordan Murry leads the 2023 event, providing an opportunity for Australian school students, up-and-coming stars and talented performers the chance to participate in this world-class platform.

The event offers scholarships to students, including the James Morrison Scholarship and Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarships, with awards including Stage Band, Vocal and Jazz Combo and Superbands.
