HIGH OCTANE, BLACK-COMEDY ABOUT POWER, BETRAYAL AND SUCCESS
In a fly-by-night office in Chicago, four desperate real estate agents are in the final days of a high stakes sales competition. The rules are simple: the winner gets a new Cadillac, second place a set of steak knives and the rest are f**k*d. As the stakes rise, everything is for sale and a price must be paid.
Nearly forty years after David Mamet’s GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS sensationally burst onto the stages of the world, becoming an instant cult classic, it remains a devastating and hilarious, modern-day morality tale about a burnt-out American dream and the business of capitalism.
Premiering in 1983 at London’s National Theatre, ‘Glengarry’ won the Olivier Award for Best Play. The following year it opened on Broadway receiving the prestigious Pulitzer Prize, NY Drama Critics’ Award plus numerous Tony Award nominations. In 1992 the play was adapted by Mamet into an Academy Award nominated film.
‘Glengarry’ is realised by an all SA creative team including David Mealor as director, Kathryn Sproul as set and costume designer, Tom Kitney as lighting designer and Quentin Grant as composer/sound designer. The cast of seven comprises Bill Allert, Chris Asimos, Nicholas Garsden, Christopher Pitman, Mark Saturno, Rory Walker and James Wardlaw.
