South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula hosts a celebration of Narungga culture this January long weekend, with Gynburra 2023. The highlight of the Gynburra Festival is the Clem Graham Memorial Butterfish Competition and presentations, taking place on Saturday 28th January.
This year’s Festival will feature cultural performances, retail stalls, a family friendly open-air movie night, opening night dinner, kids’ entertainment, food stalls and a massive fireworks display to top it all off! With live music across the whole weekend, Gynburra 2023 is the perfect, family friendly and inclusive event – all welcome!

The Gynburra (or Butterfish) is significant to the Narungga people, it is a generous and plentiful source of food and also a term of acknowledgement and identity to the Narungga people as the ‘Butterfish Mob’.
