Good wine is easy to find – especially if South Australia is home. The finest wine proves far more elusive.
Discover 10 standouts featured in the latest Langton’s Classification, a definitive guide celebrating the upper echelon. Leading this exploration: Yalumba chief winemaker Louisa Rose, plus Seppeltsfield chief winemaker Fiona Donald and Master of Wine Ned Goodwin.
Half the featured wines will be South Australian, half international. Taste your way through five brackets – think Grosset Springvale and Crawford River, Penfolds Yattarna and Cullen’s Kevin John, Best’s shiraz and Yalumba’s Octavius, Katnook and Lakes Folly. Rare, spellbinding and beautiful – these are wines you must not miss.
Rose worked her first Yalumba vintage in 1992. Fourteen years later she became chief winemaker, custodian for both tradition and innovation at Australia’s oldest family-owned winery.
Donald is also considered a trailblazer. She champions Seppeltsfield’s growing range of contemporary table wines and its precious fortified collection, drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience.
The London-born, Sydney-raised Goodwin has forged a diverse career with wine at its heart. He was dux of the Len Evans Tutorial, became Japan’s first MW and works as an educator, consultant, judge, critic, motivational speaker and presenter.
Ten wines. One very special opportunity. Be there.
