6 May 2023 Once Only Event
So you’re not sure about natural wine. We get it. There’s a lot of talk about this part of the wine world – and plenty of misconceptions too. We’re going above the fray and welcoming three innovators from the Adelaide Hills to share their stories. Taste game-changing natural wine and learn how crafting it starts in the soil, the head and the heart.
Leading wine and drinks writer Max Allen will host a relaxed, holistic masterclass featuring winemakers James Erskine, Alex Schulkin and Monique Millton. It will focus not only on their wines but paths to the finished product. Each is passionate about leaving their patch better than they found it, using regenerative agriculture to blaze a more sustainable trail.
Erkine leads Jauma Wines, which has bottled its range without additions or subtractions since 2015. Jauma produces wines that are both fun and fine – a line notoriously tricky to tread.
Schulkin founded his label The Other Right with wife Galit Shachaf in 2012. Its name speaks to doing things differently, eschewing convention to pursue wines that are wild and full of life.
A Forest Range farm is home to Millton and her partner Tim Webber. Grapes for their acclaimed label Manon are biodynamically dry grown on six of its 10 hectares.
