18 Mar 2023 Once Only Event
Coinciding with ACE’s current exhibition, A river that flows both ways: Selected works from the 23rd Biennale of Sydney: rīvus, Curatorial Liaison, Dominic Guerrera, will facilitate two-panel discussions, both featuring local Aboriginal artists and community members who will speak about our connection to rivers, lakes and seas, and the importance of working with and caring for our waterways.
Inspired by rivers that flow both ways, ACE has partnered with the Biennale of Sydney to present a local response to the 23rd Biennale, titled rīvus (Latin for “stream”). Dedicated to nature and water-based ecologies, rīvus tackles many timely environmental themes, including climate change and the effect of colonisation on First Peoples’ custodianship of ecosystems.
Nexus is located opposite ACE, so we encourage you to visit the exhibition during the rest breaks or after the symposium.
They are happy to book an interpreter if needed. Contact them if you would like to make a request.
