14 May 2022 Annual Event
The English Ale is a unique, seasonal gathering that takes place in the picturesque Adelaide hills township of Mylor every May. An ‘autumn’ gathering celebrating the village customs and ritual traditions from the UK that occur within the seasonal wheel of the year. The event acknowledges the end of the hot dry summer, the end of the fire season & moving into the ‘greener’ time of the year. The first of our winter rains have arrived and the land comes to life again. Jack in the Green has returned.
Join in for a day and night of music, mumming, merriment, dance, giants, hobby horses and guisers. Wear a mask and take part in the torchlight procession to the bonfire site where the Wickerman is lit! We acknowledge our event takes place on Peramangk land.
At the English Ale all outside events are FREE including entertainment during the day, torch light procession, bonfire and burning of the Wicker Man. We encourage visitors to wear a mask and join in the procession to the bonfire site!
