The PARK LANDS PROJECT is a free one-day festival where art, music and citizen-science meets nature. Located in Tuthangga/ Carriageway Park, the site-informed art installations, workshops and talks, will invite the public on a micro and macro journey of discovery, exploring the biodiversity significance and adaptive nature of the flora and fauna living in the Adelaide Park Lands Bush For Life sites. The 1day event will also showcase the music of Naomi Keyte.
This family friendly community event aims to open up new ways for the public to engage with the natural world. The multi-media artworks by artists – Laura Wills, Rosina Possingham, Louise Flaherty and Belinda Gehlert, will offer new perspectives of the patterns, habitats and landscapes of the local flora and fauna.
The citizen science workshops, nature walks, art and science talks, I-naturalist workshops, Butterfly walk to Park 16, plus specific nature events for kids, will be hosted by Trees For Life, Nature Conservation Society SA, Butterfly Conservation SA, Nature Play SA and invited biodiversity professionals including Jenny Deans and John Sandham.
This is a bike friendly, COVID-safe event. It will be Auslan signed with disability access support.
The project is a collaboration between Nature Conservation Society SA, Trees For Life, Hunter Gatherings and OSCA and is proudly supported by Inspiring South Australia, the City of Adelaide and the Commonwealth of Australia.
