A small winery established in 1993, owned by Tom and Sam Barry, grandsons of Jim Barry, with just under two hectares of Riesling.
The cellar door is in an old house on the famous Florita vineyard. It was built in the 1890’s, revamped in the 1920’s and resembles an Italian villa.
The vineyard is hand picked, hand pruned and dry grown. The winery produces 3 wines under the boutique clos Clare label, Riesling (dry), Shiraz and Grenache.
In 2017 clos Clare won the Best Small Producer trophy at the Clare Valley Wine Show.
Wines are available through the cellar door, by mail order or from retail outlets in Adelaide, interstate and quality restaurants. Private tastings also available by appointment.
