Ngeringa is a biodynamic vineyard and winery at the base of the Mount Barker Summit at the southern end of the Adelaide Hills.
“We allow the soil, the site, the season and the variety to express itself in our wines.”
Rarely do you have the chance to enjoy a fine wine grown, made and bottled on the estate alongside the food on your plate – all done organically and biodynamically.
The vines are small by design but they are sturdy and glowing with the health and self-sufficiency that their biodynamic condition harnesses. A small herd of Scottish Highland Cattle graze the neighbouring paddocks, with hay harvested in additional fields. Sheep roam the vineyard in winter and a flock of chickens and guinea fowl remain permanent residents amongst the vines.
A small orchard and large vegetable garden give fresh produce to the vintage crew, the local community and some of Adelaide’s top restaurants.
This is Erinn and Janet’s way of life and is the way they create wines of distinction, with vitality of fruit and of a traditional style with elegance and structure.
