The Woodstock Coterie was the first winery restaurant built in this region. Built in 1988, it was designed to nestle among the towering century old gum trees. The design took into consideration the location of each of these amazing native trees and not one significant tree was cut down to accommodate building the restaurant. Hence, the Coterie’s unique semicircle shape.
The name ‘Coterie’ was chosen for the word’s meaning; the gathering of a group of people, or rather a circle of friends, for a specific purpose… that for us includes great food, good company and excellent Woodstock wines.
Our new name, The Coterie Wine Bar & Kitchen, refllects a new, more casual approach to winery dining. We offer shared platters, nibble plates and a delicious selection of Flammekueche. We also offer children’s meals to satisfy the little ones.
So take a seat inside or under the gum trees outside in the courtyard and spend a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting, grazing and lazing at Woodstock. You can even pop one of our picnic blankets on the lawn next to the vineyard and sip and nibble there! A perfectly relaxing experience hidden among the gums and vineyards in McLaren Flat.
