Two worlds of wine, perfectly blended.
The Islander Estate Vineyards brings together two vastly different worlds. The history and finesse of Bordeaux. And Australia’s newest, most remote wine regions – Kangaroo Island. By contrast rugged, unassuming and unsophisticated.
These two are blended together by renowned Bodeaux winemaker, Jacques Lurton to create unique, elegant, cool-climate wines
Hailing from France’s oldest and largest wine family, Jacques fell love with the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island and recognised the region’s enormous viticultural potential.
Kangaroo Island offers near perfect growing conditions for wine grapes, including a cool, Mediterranean climate that allows for slow even ripening. Jacques established a modern 70 tonne winery onsite at the vineyard at the heart of the Cygnet Valley in 2000.
Today The Islander Estate enjoys the region’s only 5-star Halliday rating for its outstanding wines.
The Islander Estate’s intimate Tasting Room is centrally located at Cygnet River, offering guided tasting along with beautiful outlooks to enjoy a regional platter with your favourite wine.
The Tasting Room is open 6 days a week (closed Wed) from 12 noon to 5.00pm
For a special experience contact the Tasting Room team to book a private wine experience.
