Dublin

Rural

Dublin is a small town on the Adelaide Plains in South Australia, located 60 kilometres north of Adelaide. Situated on Highway 1, the town is surrounded by farmland and rural industry.
Dublin is a reminder of an era when 60 kilometres was a fair day’s horse or coach ride out of Adelaide. Today, Dublin is a popular service stop for travellers heading to the nearby crabbing beaches or to and from the Yorke Peninsula.

The town has a hotel, fuel, general store, post office agency, butcher, green grocer and a nice little park with picnic facilities.

Just south of the town is an imaginative collection of large sculptures that were built in protest of the government’s decision to build a waste facility. Despite protests, the dump went ahead but these scrap metal sculptures are continuing to attract plenty of attention and have become quirky landmarks.
