Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat at Cooma House is a brand new guesthouse with five double rooms, one of which is all access. Each room has an en-suite, separate toilets, smart tvs, heating and cooling with quality bedding on either king, king singles or queen beds and small break-out spaces tucked around the house.
Meals are provided using island produce. You can help Wendy cater to your needs including picking flowers and fresh produce from her garden or strolling though the labyrinth or watching the clouds.
The property of 15 acres is on the doorstep of the National Park, with the beach a stroll down the drive.
There are known artist’s works throughout and a library of local interest books and contemporary fiction – with Nespresso and leaf teas set out. Sit beside the open fire with views through the tall trees to the sea.
Wendy offers cooking schools and other packages – intimate weddings too. It’s six degrees warmer in winter than Melbourne staying at Flinders Island’s first settlement.
“This place is unique – so much more friendly and homely than staying in traditional hotels/motels. We feel part of the family … (it has) ambience and atmosphere.”
