The Highland Caravan Park is situated on the halfway point of the Hobart to Strahan touring route. Open Dec – April (inclusive). It has 15 powered/unpowered spacious sites. Grassed tent sites are located within parkland, with a barbecue and guest laundry.
There are ample toilets and showers with hot water.
The Highlander Arms Tavern is open 6 days a week Nov – April inclusive. Teez Cafe is great for coffee and its outstanding breakfast is only a short walk away (open 7 days Sept-May).
Activities include secret lake kayaking, waterfall walks and mountain biking. Feed the highland cattle, go fishing with Australia’s best guides or just get pointed in the right direction. Guests can enjoy golf (locally) or simply hang out with the towns local ducks.
You can also spot platypus, Tasmanian devils, wombats and quolls plus over 80 bird species all on the 300-acre private Estate. Staying at the Highland Caravan Park is great for families, children and touring couples.
Tarraleah is around a two-hour drive (127 kilometres/79 miles) north-west of Hobart.
