The Highland Caravan Park is situated on the halfway point of the Hobart to Strahan touring route. Open Oct – April.
It has 15 powered and unpowered sites. Grassed tent sites are located within parkland, with a barbecue and guest laundry. There are also ample toilets and showers with hot water.
The Highlander Restaurant with it’s local beers and home cooking is within sight (open 6 days a week Nov – April). Teez Cafe is great for coffee and its outstanding breakfast is only a short walk away (open 7 days Sept – May).
The Highland Store stocks locally made items plus warm clothing essentials for cold weather.
Endless activities include secret lake kayaking, spa house, waterfall walks and mountain biking. Help feed the highland cattle and go fishing with Australia’s best guides or just get pointed in the right direction. Guests can enjoy golf (locally), squash or even use the gymnasium.
You can also spot platypus, Tasmanian devils, wombats and quolls plus over 80 bird species all on the 300 acre Estate.
Staying at the Highland Caravan Park is great for families, children and touring couples.
Tarraleah is around a two-hour drive (127 kilometres/79 miles) north-west of Hobart.
