Our private four-day Wilderness and Whisky Walks tour allows couples, private groups or Corporate programs to enjoy two distinctively Tasmanian adventures, exploring the landscape on some of Tasmania’s best short walks and hiking trails before tastings and behind-the-scenes access at Tasmania’s finest distilleries and wineries.

We keep this tour simple, exploring the diverse regions of southern Tasmania, each offering wild natural landscapes and passionate producers behind the distilleries and wineries.

Daily tour activity structure

After picking you up from your Hobart accommodation at 8.30 am, we head off to the chosen region for our morning bush walk. We will pack a gourmet picnic to enjoy on the trail.

With the morning adventure completed, we go in search of the local distilling talent, or winery and drop in for a tasting and refreshing break amongst stories of creating the finest Tasmanian whisky, gin, wine, cider or vodka. A great opportunity to debrief, review the day’s activities and plans for tomorrow’s adventures.

We then head home to your Hobart accommodation around 5:30 pm, where you are free to explore and enjoy the city’s restaurants, culture and nightlife.

On our Farm Gate Trail day tour of the Huon Valley, we will visit passionate people behind some of the best food and beverages in Tasmania, tasting their produce. We will also visit craftspeople and artisans to see them working and with the opportunity to purchase their wares.

The D’Entrecasteaux Channel and Huon Valley are home to hundreds of small, diverse farms. The quality and variety of produce in the region have led to some calling it the food bowl of the nation; apples, cherries, stone fruits and grapes all flourish.

Tastings are included in the cost of this adventure (except at Willie Smiths).
Depending on the season and timing of your visit, we will assemble an itinerary that explores the best of what the Huon and Channel have to offer, from among these and other producers.

On day one we commence at 7 am pickup from Hobart accommodation, and catch the ferry to Bruny Island. On Bruny take in views of its beaches and keep our eyes open for the white wallaby. Fluted Cape at Adventure Bay is one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks at around three hours.

After a gourmet picnic lunch, we drive to the Cape Bruny Lighthouse for a guided tour. After checking into your accommodation, we head to Hotel Bruny at Alonnah for dinner.

On day two after enjoying your tasty breakfast, we will collect you from your accommodation on Bruny and start the day with a short stroll out to Cloudy Bay, an isolated surf beach directly facing the Southern Ocean.

The Inala Jurassic Garden and Nature Reserve is world-renowned as a private sanctuary for native birds and wildlife as well as its endemic botanical species. Our suggestion for lunch is the family-owned Bruny Island Premium Winery.

Back at Adventure Bay we visit the private garden at Hiba and sample Bruny Island fudge or an optional tasting of Houndstooth Whisky. Then after a dozen at the Get Shucked oyster farm it’s back on the ferry to return to Hobart.
