Established in the 1990s, Greenoaks Gallery in Launceston was a unique and much loved neighborhood gallery for many years. More recently it became a private residence. We have now renovated the building, enhancing its delightful original features, and reopened using the same name. We aim to bring the same unique appeal and personal touch to the gallery as it enjoyed in its past.
The gallery features the work of artist Dan Villiers, who works in a wide variety of styles and mediums. Pastel, watercolor, acrylic, drawing, and encaustic painting are some of the mediums. Dan paints scenery, flora, fauna, and people from all over Tasmania. When you visit he will gladly talk to you about his work and how he created specific pieces. There is an extensive range of original artworks displayed in the gallery, and Dan also accepts commission requests, should you want something special to you.
Located at the picturesque park at St Georges Square. Locals enjoy strolling and picnicing in the shady green park. Cafes and specialty stores can be found in the park and in neighboring streets. Ample parking is available right by the gallery.
