Tasmania’s Theatre Royal, in Hobart, is Australia’s oldest working theatre and one of its most beautiful treasures.
There are exciting changes ahead for the Theatre, which is currently closed for the development of the Hedberg performing arts centre. The Hedberg will provide greatly improved facilities for Theatre Royal patrons and performers and will house the Theatre Royal and the University of Tasmania Conservatorium of Music.
In preparation for the reopening, Season 2019 is currently on sale. And what a season it will be! We are extremely proud to present the best of Australian performing arts companies, including Melbourne Theatre Company, Sydney Dance Company, Circus Oz, Bangarra Dance Theatre and Bell Shakespeare. These companies are bringing their high-quality production of dance, comedy, circus and drama with some very special anniversary tours.
There’s plenty of local talent too including My Fair Lady and fabulous big band musical numbers in The Very Best of Croon Live.
For further information on the Hedberg development, and to view the full 2019 Season program visit www.theatreroyal.com.au.
The Theatre Royal Box Office is currently located at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Dunn Place, Hobart. Open for in-person ticket sales and phone bookings daily 10am – 4pm.
