Wilderness Adventures Tasmania offers fully guided day hikes in North West Tasmania’s spectacular and pristine wilderness areas. With a range of pre-planned itineraries available or the special ‘choose your adventure’ option there is a tour available for everyone.
Your tour will start from the major towns of Devonport or Ulverstone (Burnie and other pick up locations available by arrangement). We will transport you to our walking destination, Cradle Mountain and Narawntapu National Parks are our specialty. Our specialised local guides will lead you around the track, providing expert commentary on the area and pointing out the wildlife in their native habitat.
We provide a nourishing picnic lunch, a stress free adventure and the opportunity to make lasting memories of your time in North West Tasmania. We love our wilderness areas, and we can’t wait to show them to you!

Difficulty: Level 2, flat and well-formed tracks. Climbing Archers Knob is an optional extra.
Narawntapu National Park is a popular choice for nature lovers due to the abundance of wildlife in the park.
This is your opportunity to walk amongst the birds and animals that call this park home. A local nature guide will take you on a leisurely hike through the wilderness. Your first stop will be the bird hide where an abundance of birdlife can be seen. Native ducks, Hooded Plovers and wedge tailed eagles can be seen here, hopefully on the day that you visit!
Along the way, we will also be on the lookout for the Eastern Grey Kangaroo, Bennett’s Wallaby and Tasmanian Pademelon. In the summertime, echidnas may also be on the track.
The pristine Bakers Beach will be our next stop where you can make a quick sandcastle, watch the sea birds, or check for seashells. An optional extra for this tour is to climb Archers Knob for views of the spectacular Tasmanian coast line. Join us for a great adventure!
Dove Lake at the foot of Cradle Mountain is one of Tasmania’s most spectacular attractions in the UNESCO listed Cradle Mountain Lake-St Clair National Park.
Join us on the wilderness adventure of a lifetime as a local nature guide leads you on a leisurely hike circumnavigating this famous lake. Experience spectacular views of Cradle Mountain’s famous twin peaks as you wind your way around the 6km track through spectacular native forests.
Chances are you will see some of Tasmania’s wildlife in their native habitat. Wombats and wallabies are often seen in the National Park and your guide is well trained to help you spot them if they are about.
Hike in a small group allowing for a unique and intimate experience. A delicious picnic lunch will be provided to enjoy during your walk. Suitable for people of all ages and medium fitness levels.
