Windermere Woodcrafts

Galleries, Museums and Collections

Wood artist John Tobin has been practising the 3 Dimensional inlay carving craft of “Intarsia” for more than 40 years.
From small boxes, mirror’s and carving’s, John’s work is amongst the most beautiful and original woodcraft being produced in Tasmania. John’s work can only be viewed and is sold from his showroom in Windermere Tasmania.
John uses all of the Tasmanian timber’s as well as Mainland species to create woodcraft that can take anywhere from a few hours to 9 months to complete. Inlay work is cut using a scroll saw and carving is completed using only a Stanley knife and sandpaper.
The showroom is located at Windermere, just fifteen minutes drive from Launceston in Tasmania is open 7 days. Or you can ring to make an arrangement for a day and time to visit the showroom on 03 63281476.
Because you are purchasing from the designer-maker, Windermere Woodcraft’s prices are wholesale and without a GST.
