Festival of Small Halls Southport – Tasmania

Concert or Performance

4 Jan 2020

Southport Community Centre is proud to be the first Tasmanian venue for the Festival of Small Halls Summer Tour 2020. This will be the centre’s third FoSH as they rekindle their great relationship with Woodfordia Inc who in partnership with Cygnet Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and Woodford Folk Festival presents this tour.
Line up:
Siobhan Miller (SCO) One of Scotland’s foremost singers. Miller creates music with detail and rich melodies that combine the sounds of indie and alternative music with sounds from her roots in folk music.
Jack Carty (AUS) Critically acclaimed Australian songwriter Jack Carty writes with an honesty, patience and love of the craft learned through the sheltered valleys and close-knit communities of a rural childhood spent in sleepy Bellingen.
Local artists: This year SCC is delighted to present ‘Rebecca and James’ from Dover. Rebecca Hancock was the voice of Sydney bands Watusi Now and Paris Pink, and toured internationally as a member of Ed Kuepper’s The Yard Goes On Forever. She has recorded extensively, including two albums of her own with her band The Prison Wives. Rebecca is accompanied by her long time partner, James Vicary.
Bar-BBQ-veggie/vegan snacks-sweet treats-tea and coffee from 5.30 pm. No BYO.
