Shaping Her Memories: woodcarving with Carol Russell

Create your own beautiful utensil made from locally salvaged timber and hand tools in the spirit of the Jimmy Possum making tradition.

During the session you’ll learn tradition whittling and carving techniques through the creation of beautiful cheese or butter knife.

Carol will also show you how to maintain and sharpen tools such as knives, spokeshaves and drawknives.

Bring along your own small object that has meaning and share its story with the group as part of the celebrations for International Women’s Day at QVMAG.

All the tools and materials needed for this workshop are provided. Please wear covered shoes. Morning tea will be provided on the day. Bookings are essential.
