The Spirit of Tasmania Cycling Tour returns to the roads of scenic Northern Tasmania from 3-7 December 2019.
Wednesday, 4 December
Men’s Stage 1 – George Town to Grindlewald.
Don’t miss day two of racing, when the men will traverse 115.9km of tough roads. Commencing in the picturesque seaside location of George Town, this stage ends with a steep 10km climb where riders will make their great attacks and winning moves, before finishing the stage on the streets of stunning Grindelwald.
Cheer riders on from the roadside anywhere along the course.
The Tour is the final event in the 2019 National Road Series (NRS), the premier national league for road cycling in Australia. It is the leading race on the Cycling Australia NRS calendar and will be held in various locations over five consecutive days.
Dating back to 1930, the Tour is vital to ensuring the national developmental pathway and advancement of cycling.
Past winners include Richie Porte, Bernard Sulzberger and Cadel Evans.
This is a unique chance to witness Australia’s best cyclists battling it out while experiencing this picturesque region of Tasmania at the same time. And it’s free!
Women’s racing commences Thursday.
