14 Sep 2018 to 16 Sep 2018
Set in one of Tasmania’s most beautiful landscapes from which it takes its name, the biennial Tamar Valley Writers’ Festival is an exciting and thought-provoking literary and cultural event.
Since the inaugural festival in 2014, (previously known as the Festival of Golden Words), it has quickly gained a reputation for attracting high profile writers and presenters from across Australia. This year is no exception; from September 14 – 16, 2018, the Festival program will be packed with some of our nation’s most inspiring and entertaining authors and commentators, including Julian Burnside AO QC, barrister, human rights and refugee advocate; Christine Milne, former leader of the Australian Greens and internationally acclaimed parent educator and author, Steve Biddulph AM. More exciting additions will be revealed soon!
Join us for live interviews, workshops, panel discussions, our special schools’ program and fabulous social events, including a gala dinner at one of the Tamar Valley’s acclaimed wineries.
Spring is a wonderful time to visit northern Tasmania and the Tamar Valley and there are many good reasons to extend your stay in September, including the quirky and fabulous Junction Arts Festival; the Artentwine Sculpture Biennial 2018 and the Blooming Tasmania Flower and Garden Festival.
