The ASMA 2019 National Marine Art Exhibition

The Australian Society of Marine Artists Inc will be staging its National Exhibition at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania’s Carnegie Gallery, Hobart 15 November 2019 to 22 March 2020. Coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, the Exhibition will showcase the best examples of the Society’s Members’ artwork that masterfully illustrate the rich maritime heritage, beautiful coastlines and waterways of our nation.
Capturing many subjects with different artistic styles the artists will depict historical and contemporary subjects. Paintings will include references to the 75th Anniversary of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
From its first President, official war artist Dennis Adams OAM AICH, the Society has attracted highly proficient marine artists whose work is found in Australian corporate and government agencies, NSW Government House, the Royal Australian Navy and a host of private collections in Australia and overseas.
The Exhibition will be officially opened by the Governor of Tasmania, Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC on Friday 15 November 5:30 – 7:00 pm.
Gallery hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm every day except Christmas Day
