The Overwintering Project: Kingborough

Community Event

1 Sep 2020 to 13 Sep 2020

Kingborough is hosting The Overwintering Project: Mapping Sanctuary, an exhibition of work that seeks to raise awareness for Australia’s migratory shorebirds and their habitat by inviting artists to help make them visible.
The core of the exhibition is The Overwintering Print Portfolio, a growing collection of works by Australian and New Zealand artists who have contributed prints (linocuts, etchings, woodblocks, digital prints…) in response to their local migratory shorebirds and their habitat.
In addition to the Print Portfolio, there will be multi-media works by local artists on the theme. These could include sculpture, textiles, jewellery, painting, drawing… Some works are for sale and anyone can join.
