The Spirit of Tasmania Cycling Tour returns to the roads of scenic Northern Tasmania from 3-7 December 2019.
Tuesday, 3 December
Men’s Prologue – Launceston.
Day one of racing will see the Men’s Prologue (an individual time trial) being fought out on the challenging 590-metre course that is a short but brutally steep climb up Brisbane St West, known as the ‘Mini Alpe d’Huez’. There are plenty of opportunities here for spectators to get up close and cheer the riders on.
The Spirit of Tasmania Cycling Tour is the final event in the 2019 National Road Series (NRS), the premier national league for road cycling in Australia. This is the leading race on the Cycling Australia NRS calendar and will be held in various locations over five consecutive days.
Dating back to 1930, the Tour provides an important opportunity for riders who are striving to become full-fledged professional riders to compete alongside international stars.
Past winners include Richie Porte, Bernard Sulzberger and Cadel Evans.
Don’t miss this unique chance to witness Australia’s best cyclists battling it out while experiencing beautiful Launceston at the same time. And it’s free!
Women’s racing commences Thursday.
