Crabapple Cottage

Crabapple Cottage has been lovingly renovated with visitors in mind. Inviting and spacious, this regional idyll is a welcome retreat after winery hopping, hiking in the Grampians or exploring TAMA Gallery, cafes and historic lunatic asylum.

Enjoy a long lunch in the sun-filled kitchen or at the outdoor table nestled in a spacious garden setting. Curl up on the couch and chat with your companions or hunker down with a coffee and the television.

This sustainably run house has three large bedrooms, renovated kitchen and bathroom and a second toilet. Built in the 1930s it has art deco touches. The owners have furnished the house with vintage items that are beautiful but not precious.

The kitchen is well-appointed with a dishwasher, ceramic stove, oven and microwave. The bed linen and towels are of organic cotton and eco cleaning products are used.

Two split level air conditioners provide efficient heating and cooling. Electric blankets and small heaters keep things toasty in the bedrooms. The cottage uses solar power.

The spacious rear garden allows plenty of room for running about and dining al fresco.

If you wish to travel by rail, the station is literally five minutes’ walk away. The cottage is a 40-minute drive through pleasant countryside to Halls Gap in the iconic Grampians.
