The Robert Clark Conservatory

Landmarks and Buildings

Take a wander inside amongst the seasonal floral displays at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.

The Robert Clark Conservatory opened in 1995 and was built as part of the two million dollar bequest of Bob Clark in honour of his grandfather Robert Clark co-founder of The Ballarat Courier newspaper.

The third conservatory on the site, this is the first to allow visitors to stroll amongst the year-round floral displays, including the Begonia collection on show each year from the second weekend in March (for approximately four weeks).

The other displays featured: May – Chrysanthemums, Winter – Cyclamen, Cineraria and Primula, Spring – Schizanthus, Summer – Fuchsias, Hydrangeas and Pelargoniu.
