Hidden Secrets Tours – Melbourne

Cultural and Theme Tours

Hidden Secrets Tours Melbourne are the original walking tours of Melbourne’s Laneways, established in 2004.

These walking tours of Melbourne City give guests an experience beyond the stock-standard tour. Hidden Secrets Tours pride themselves on showcasing the hidden gems of the city. They want you to Meet Melbourne, not just look at it.

This contemporary team of tour hosts have designed options for travellers and locals – not just ‘tourists’ – focusing on experiencing the city and all the talent that exists in Australia’s creative hub, with information that’s more current than any guide book.

Tour group sizes are kept to a maximum of eight to maintain an intimate experience and will run with a minimum of two on scheduled tour days. By design, Melbourne is a spectacular city to walk, so itineraries are based in the city centre. Half day tours, or one to two hour experiences can be arranged.

Hidden Secrets Tours have a range of different walking tours covering food, art, fashion, coffee and wine mixed with history and architectural treasures. Indulge in the cultural and sensory essence of Melbourne with these must do experiences.

Hidden Secrets Tours Melbourne takes you on a Progressive Degustation Walk (formally Sommelier’s City Walk).

Passion for food and wine is a tradition in this city; chefs are celebrities, and wine masters are finding a voice. Many of Melbourne’s wine focused restaurants are off the main streets, where design of the dining experience is as important as the skills in the kitchen.

Enjoy an early evening walk discovering three unique restaurants and learn of the sommeliers’ influences on menus and cellaring choices. More than a wine tasting, this is a night to indulge in just a few of Melbourne’s many epicurean establishments, and explore a relationship with the often silent hero’s of the wine industry.

Generous wine samples, food tastings, and special offers included.

A Golden Mile Heritage Walk is a ‘must do’ activity in the city for history buffs and is also a wonderful way for visitors to orientate themselves around the important historical points of the city. With a registered professional tour guide learn about Melbourne’s history and heritage first hand. The walk is approximately two hours duration.

The guided tour provides participants with an opportunity to share in the guides’ great knowledge and particular secrets as the trail marches along Collins Street and takes you for a sneak peek inside the elegant Gothic interiors of the ANZ bank, the plush European-style hotels and into the austere but commanding inner recesses of Melbourne Town Hall, or the Athenaeum.

Please note: The West East section of the route is available on weekdays- and the East section on weekends and public holidays.

The Eastern tour includes the Theatre and Chinatown areas, that are more accessible on the weekends.
