Since 2017, Plunge Mornington Peninsula wine tours have taken guests beyond the cellar door for adventures with a local wine authority. You will meet winemakers, visit boutique wineries and hear stories about vintage past. Your host, Arthur O’Bryan has worked in the region’s wine industry for over twenty-five years and has access to local winemakers and private cellars where you join in tastings and discover the best flavours of this stunning region.

Tour highlights include a fresh organic punnet of flavour-filled strawberries to calibrate your palate for the Pinot Noirs ahead.

A morning feast of premium sparkling wine and local delicacies including cheeses and olives enjoyed in a private location overlooking Western Port Bay- the vineyard’s air conditioning unit.

Behind-the-scenes, one-on-one tastings with celebrated winemakers including Arthur’s wife, Geraldine McFaul, a Mornington Peninsula veteran of 25 vintages and the winemaker of Rare Hare, Elgee Park, and Baillieu Vineyard wines.

Lunch is at one of the region’s most popular restaurants including The Merricks General Wine Store for two-courses and a glass of wine.

Plunge Wine Tours collect and return you to your preferred location in a luxurious Mercedes-Benz Viano. Once on board, you can enjoy a colourful commentary and stunning coastal scenery.

Visit the Mornington Peninsula wineries who live and breathe organic farming and biodynamic viticulture.

Your tour begins in Main Ridge in the historic train carriages of Nazaaray Estate tasting whole-bunch fermented Pinot Noir. Then it is onto Quealy Wines for locally made organic wines before a private tour and tasting at biodynamic producers, Avani Wines. After a relaxing two-course lunch at Merricks General Wine Store , you visit the original organic orchardist, Mocks for a refreshing Red Hill organic apple or pear cider.

You finish the day ensconced in the cellar door at Prancing Horse Estate, contemplating a range of wines made by the region’s biodynamic pioneers, while enjoying superb sea views overlooking Western Port Bay.

Tour in a luxurious Mercedes Benz Viano; enjoy fresh local strawberries to calibrate your palate to the fine Pinot Noirs tasted throughout the day.

Not your typical gallery experience, this tour breathes fresh air into a living art studio fuelled by nature, great wine and people. The Mornington Peninsula has been an outdoor sculpture Mecca since Baillieu Myer AC and Dame Elizabeth Murdoch AC DBE laid down an ambitious plan to create Australia’s premier Sculpture Park.

This vision surrounds you when visiting McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park and the magnificent Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove for a tour of the wines, the grounds with sculptures and then lunch.

The tour then heads to Pt Leo Estate where an $180m vineyard, cellar door, restaurant and one of Australia’s premium sculpture collections is displayed. You will tour the grounds looking at these spectacular pieces of art with the ocean backdrop a constant reminder of the cool maritime climate the grapes are grown in.

Your tour begins with sparkling wine and cheese in Red Hill before a six and a half kilometre walk to Merricks. You will follow the original Red Hill railway line (built in 1915) and along the way, meet winemakers at Stonier Wines and enjoy a tasting in the vineyard.

Visit the charming Merricks General Wine Store for a tasting of Elgee Park, Baillieu and neighbours wines followed by a two-course lunch.

Afterwards, stroll over to Stonier for a tasting and, with time permitting, visit Merricks Estate to see the wines and native bushland restored by the owners. The tour then heads to Balnarring where we taste Quealy Wines with the dynamic winemaker, Kathleen Quealy.

Finish the day with a wander through the tranquil Coolart Estate, featuring the best wetlands and bird watching in the Western Port catchment.

The Grand Cru Vineyards Tour enables you to taste wines made by the pioneers of the Mornington Peninsula wine industry. Your day begins tasting the range of wines at Stonier (established 1978) where the single-vineyard wines capture the attention before ascending Red Hill for the domains of Paringa Estate in Red Hill South and Main Ridge Estate (est. 1975).

You arrive in Merricks for a two course, regionally inspired lunch in the Merricks Wine Store restaurant where you taste the Elgee Park range, the region’s first vineyard. We then finish the day at Moorooduc Estate with a tasting of Rick McIntyre’s range of wild yeast fermented wines. Rick is a trailblazer of Wild Yeast ferment.

The Mornington Peninsula Up the Hill Down the Hill visit the restless, creative and driven winemakers and restaurateurs who push the envelope with varieties, flavour and style.

Foxeys Hangout in Red Hill is where the Lee brothers make some of the region’s best Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sparkling wines. After a visit, you head to Willow Creek Vineyards where Geraldine McFaul produces perfectly-balanced wines that engage the brain.

Lunch is at Merricks General Wine Store, followed by a visit to Yabby Lake where in 2012 Australia’s first Jimmy Watson Trophy winning Pinot Noir was made.

The day finishes at the trailblazing Crittenden Estate, tasting the expansive Crittenden’s wines (including the exceptional Zuma) or their selection of Italian and Spanish varietals not found anywhere else in the region.
