Rock Correa Interpretive Walking Track at Tallis Wine

Agri, Mining and Industry

The breathtaking Rock Correa Interpretive Walking Track takes in the magnificent panoramic views from the Dookie hills, using interpretive signage at eleven points along the way, in order to raise awareness of the Yorta Yorta people as the traditional owners, highlight the grassy woodland’s important flora and fauna species and describe early European settlement in this region.

Walkers are invited to take time to read about the natural and cultural values of the local region. At the pinnacle, a panoramic sign shows major land points across the countryside.

It is hoped this walk will raise awareness of how valuable the Dookie landscape is to us all. Its extraordinary scenery and abundant resources have drawn people – and continues to draw people to this special place through time.

Walkers are advised to watch their step, wear sturdy footwear, keep eyes peeled for kangaroos and watch out for snakes in warmer months. Water, hat, long pants and sunscreen recommended.

The Rock Correa walk is a collaboration between the Tallis Family, Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and Goulburn Broken CMA, made possible through funding from the National Landcare Programme.

Track open during Tallis Wine cellar door hours.
