Your day will start in the homestead at Woodlands Historic Park with a generous Devonshire Tea with time to explore the homestead / museum before your tour of Living Legends which is home to some favourite retired champion race horses such as Fields of Omagh, Might and Power, Silent Witness, Better Loosen Up, Rogan Josh, Brew, Paris Lane, Efficient, Who Shot The Barman (NZ), Redkirk Warrior (GB) and Peniaphobia (IRE). Enjoy the opportunity to meet, pat and feed the horses.

Then head to the Macedon Ranges to enjoy a wood-fired pizza lunch and wine tastings at a local winery.

The last stop of the day is Holgate’s Brewery, a country pub with a range of classic beer styles, full in flavour and rich in character. See a microbrewery in action and taste the range of beers on offer. Afterwards you will have time to meander down the main street of beautiful Woodend or sit by the fire / in the beer garden and enjoy another brew.

Living Legends is part of Woodlands Park and is modelled closely on the Home of Rest for Horses in the United Kingdom. Like the Home of Rest, they aim to support equine research, education and training to benefit horses of all ages and breeds. Special emphasis, however, is given to the care of older horses.

In addition to your meet and greet session with the horses, relax in the beautiful, historic homestead of Woodlands Historic Park with a delicious and generous Morning Tea and some time to explore the on-site museum before travelling back to your cruise ship or hotel.
