Sorrento Front Beach

Natural Attractions

Scenic Norfolk Island Pines line the coast here and small boats moor offshore providing an amazing view no matter which direction you look. Take a walk along the scenic seafront while looking at the sparkling aqua waters, picnic on the lawns or visit nearby cafes but do stop and take in the atmosphere and vistas at this popular beach.

On a clear day you can see Melbourne in the distance across Port Phillip and watch the ferries arriving and departing the jetty on the hour, or the tankers moving down the channel in and out of the bay.

The beach is coated in fine white sand with lovely grassy areas. The sheltered beach faces north-east and is protected from most waves.

This beach is relatively safe for swimming however it is not patrolled and it is best to swim away from the jetty and boat ramp.

Accessible beach matting is available daily between November and May next to The Baths Restaurant. Please note matting will not always meet the water’s edge, during low tides.

Dogs on leashes are permitted between 7:00pm and 9:00am except during Daylight Savings period.
