Natural Attractions

St Andrews Beach forms part of of a 35 km continuous stretch of ocean beach that runs from Cape Schanck to Portsea and is part of the Mornington Peninsula National Park. Situated between Gunnamatta Surf beach and Rye Ocean Beach it faces the wild waters of Bass Strait.

This is an excellent beach for beach fishing as permanent rip holes exist against the reefs and gutters along the rocks, creating a haven for fish.

It is a popular surf location with many good breaks that attracts surfers all year round. It offers an exposed beach break that has fairly consistent surf, although in summer it tends to be mostly flat. It does experience dangerous rips and care should be taken. It is not patrolled and swimming is not recommended. Parking is available at the St Andrews Beach Car Park at the end of Paradise Drive.
