For those wishing to see the rare, unique and beautiful Weedy Seadragons in their natural habitat, this Scuba Doctor Guided Dive is for you.

Learn all about and see up close the marine life of Flinders Pier in Western Port in a relaxed coastal setting with The Scuba Doctor. It’s the Weedy Seadragon capital of the world.

Tours begin with your friendly and highly experienced guide preparing you for the guided dive with information on the marine life you can expect to encounter, plus getting you kitted up with any hire gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, cylinder and/or weight belt) you may need.

Then you’ll travel to Flinders Pier which is the easiest place in the world to find these iconic marine creatures. There are dozens of them here and during the right season, you might see the males carrying eggs around.

The Scuba Doctor hosted the BBC Natural History Film Unit for three weeks in January 2016 while they shot footage of Weedy Sea Dragons for episode 5 ‘Green Seas’ of the documentary Blue Planet II.

For those wishing to see beautiful Seahorses in their natural habitat, this Scuba Doctor Guided Dive is for you. Three species of Seahorses are local residents at Rye Pier.

Tours begin with your friendly and highly experienced guide preparing you for the guided dive with information on the marine life you can expect to encounter at Rye Pier, plus getting you kitted up with any hire gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, cylinder and/or weightbelt) you may need.

Then you’ll travel to nearby Rye Pier which is arguably the easiest place in the world to find Seahorses. Under the pier keep your eyes on the sponge encrusted pylons for Seahorses, but don’t miss the bottom-feeding Stingrays, Spider Crabs and Octopus, plus a range of fish species. On a night dive, you’re likely to see plenty of Seahorses, Squid, Octopus and Nudibranch.

For those wishing to see the elusive and deadly Blue-Ringed Octopus in their natural habitat, this Scuba Doctor Guided Dive is for you. Considered one of the world’s most venomous marine animals, they’re rarely seen by most divers due to their timid nature. But your dive guides know where they hang out.

Tours begin with your friendly and highly experienced guide preparing you for the guided dive with information on the marine life you can expect to encounter at Blairgowrie Pier, plus getting you kitted up with any hire gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, cylinder and/or weightbelt) you may need.

Then you’ll travel to nearby Blairgowrie Pier which is an awesome place to see the Southern Blue-Ringed Octopus, Southern Keeled Octopus and Maori Octopus. The pylons and sea wall are covered in colourful Sponges, and home to Sea Stars and a large variety of Nudibranchs. You might also see Tasseled Frogfish, Seahorses, Shaws Cowfish, Spider Crabs, Cuttlefish, and Smooth Stingrays. At night under torchlight, you’ll see numerous Squid and Octopus, and sometimes Stargazers and Skates.

For those wishing to see the gorgeous colours, stripes, spots, fringes and striking forms of Nudibranchs in their natural habitat, this Scuba Doctor Guided Dive is for you. More than a hundred species of these elusive butterflies of the sea have been identified at Blairgowrie Pier.

Tours begin with your friendly and highly experienced guide preparing you for the guided dive with information on the marine life you can expect to encounter, plus getting you kitted up with any hire gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, cylinder and/or weight belt) you may need.

Then you’ll travel to nearby Blairgowrie Pier where the pylons and sea wall are completely covered in colourful Sponges, Ascidians, Algae and Kelp, and home to Nudibranchs, Crabs, Sea Stars and Tube Worms. While exploring the pier, you might also see Tasseled Frogfish, Seahorses, Shaws Cowfish, Spider Crabs, Stingarees, Cuttlefish, Pipefish, Fiddler Rays, Smooth Stingrays and numerous reef fish. Blairgowrie Pier is also a great night dive. Under torchlight, you will see numerous Nudibranchs, Octopus, and sometimes Stargazers and Skates.

Every year from late-May to mid-June one of the world’s most awesome aggregations of marine life happens in Port Phillip. Giant Spider Crabs come together to moult in the shallow waters, often showing up at local piers. For those wishing to see this stunning event up close and personal, this Guided Dive is for you.

Tours begin with your friendly and highly experienced guide preparing you for the guided dive with information on the marine life you can expect to encounter, plus getting you kitted up with any hire gear (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, cylinder and/or weight belt) you may need.

Then you’ll travel to nearby Blairgowrie Pier or Rye Pier where the Giant Spider Crabs carpet the seabed as they gather to moult. You might see them moulting, or watch predators like rays, birds, seals and dolphins come to feed on them while they’re still soft after moulting.
