Experience the spirits of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Develop a deep appreciation for the flavours and stages of the distilling journey as you take an active role in the process. Explore the range of available botanicals including international spices such as grains of paradise and star anise, as well as Australian plants and bush food the likes of lemon myrtle and desert lime. Be guided by the Kilderkin experts in the range of flavours and taste the spirit from various stages of the distillation. Immerse yourself in an educational experience that explores four centuries of gin history from Dutch Genever through to bathtub gin, Old Tom through to modern international styles.
Kilderkin Distillery is housed in an old warehouse nestled below the historic Sunnyside Woollen Mills chimney. The workshop will feature guided tastings of different styles of gins and the full range of Larrikin Gins and liqueurs. Guidance is also provided on how to conjure the perfect gin and tonic or gin and soda, with explanations about selecting the right ingredients and garnishes. The experience concludes with participants concocting their own gin-based cocktail. Guests will also be treated to cheese and charcuterie platters as well as a 200ml bottle of gin of their choice to take home.
