Artist Siri Hayes leads this hands-on photographic workshop that utilises both traditional techniques and more contemporary approaches to portraits. Participants will have the opportunity to use an old-fashioned large format camera to produce a Polaroid image, in addition to their own camera or device.
Siri Hayes lives and works in Melbourne. Her practice incorporates photography, video and textiles. She has exhibited widely in group exhibitions such as Contemporary Australian Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery, Melbourne Now and Negotiating this world: contemporary Australian Art both at the National Gallery of Victoria and Future Primitive at Heide Museum of Modern Art.
In 2013 she exhibited a solo exhibition Back to Nature Scene in the Kerry Gardner and Andrew Myer Project Gallery at Heide. She has won the Olive Cotton Award for Photographic Portraiture. Her work is held in 20 significant public national collections including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and Heide Museum of Modern Art.
