10 Nov 2019 to 16 Nov 2019

Another layer of discovery into the life of Alfred Felton. This time through the lens of death. Join us in the basement for a unique medley of walk and talk through the fascinating history of St Kilda cemetery coupled with an a look at the ways technology is shaping our memories of loved ones.

A virtual walk and talk through the historical graves of Alfred Felton, his friends and colleagues, set against the new world practice of online memorials. Elizabeth Hore, President of Friends of St Kilda Cemetery, and Andrew Ranger, co-founder of Skymorials.com will take you on a journey. Commentary from those who really know the business of being dead and how it differs between 1904 and 2019. Come and take a peek at life on the other side.

This talk is presented as part of the Felton Museum. A pop-up contemporary museum celebrating the life of Alfred Felton, shedding light on the little known story of his impact on Melbourne’s high art and low living. If you’re yet to discover the museum itself or the program of stories and adventures in and around it, head back to the Arts Program page for more information and tickets.
