As a thank you for supporting us during Covid, Babaji’s Kitchen invite you to celebrate ‘Onam’ their Keralan ‘Christmas’ with them. Come together with friends and community to share an epic Keralan banana leaf banquet; ‘Onam Sadhya’.
Onam is a magical time of the year in their South Indian home-state of Kerala. A 10 day harvest festival that celebrates the return from the underworld of King Mahabali. Mahabali was the kind of King who didn’t believe in caste discrimination and reigned without crime and corruption. He’d have rocked the ‘Kindness Pandemic’.
Babaji’s Kitchen will be cooking up a community feast in their Aussie home, Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges and invite you to bring along your favourite Keralan dish you’ve cooked to share.
Each week during isolation, they will teach you how to make a traditional Onam Sadyha dish at home until you have mastered the whole 20 dish banquet.
Recipes and video tutorials will be provided and uploaded weekly.
Babaji’s Kitchen hope to be able to host their community feast in September but realise they may need to reschedule.
